Originally, I was putting the song "ENDLESS STORY" (full version) as the music to be (auto)played on the blog. Then when i went in to check, i realize that it's very lagging. Considering that my connection is Starhub Maxonline 7500 (something like that... anyway it's 2nd tier), this means that anyone with a connection equal to or below me will have a hard time loading the blog... Thus I hypothesized that the music file need to be smaller (haiz... the original song is actually 10mb, and I've already scaled it down to around 4mb, but it's still too big...). So the next step is to go find a midi file of the same song.
It didn't take me long (maybe 10 seconds?) to find the midi file. But IMEEM doesn't allows me to upload it to their server, purely because it's NOT a mp3 file. Duh. So i was thinking, Ok, let's just convert the midi file to a mp3 file lor. The search for an mp3-to-midi converter begins, and it didn't take long to find one. As I convert the file, 3 problems came:
Firstly, the program is actually trialware with a time period of 14 days. Well, that's ok, since I'm only going to use it once this time. If I ever need it again, I can always look for another program.
Secondly, it can only converts up to the 60 second mark. So I thinks, that's ok too, it's not like somebody is going to look at my blog for more than 1 min, or so I guess. Even if they do, then ok lor. It's not like the absence of music will spoil their mood, they can always click on the "play" button. Yes, i know, I'm being a bastard here...
Thirdly, which is the biggest flaw... The converted mp3 file sounds more like an instrumental version of the song, meaning you wouldn't hear the piano keys which are suppose to be in place of the vocals... darn, if it's like that, I might as well upload the instrumental version instead of doing all this... But then it's also 10mb in size, so the same lagging problem is going to happen again.
As I ponders for a few minutes, I realise that I have a program to record any sounds (or music) that's played on my PC. I've always used that to record TV versions of theme songs played in animes. Haha, how can I forget that wonderful program? It has one flaw though, since it's also a trial version, it can only record up to two mins. However, it doesn't really matter, that much time is definitely enough, plus the trial period is eternal. They will only keep bugging you to buy the program when you open the application, so it's all right for me.
Before I put this song, I was originally planning to put the song "ETERNAL BLAZE" by Mizuki Nana. But it also got laggy so I think i will just put it in my Anison Dream blog instead, where i can even add in the lyrics, translate them and even give my own view on it.
"ENDLESS STORY" is an insert song for the movie "NANA". Well for anyone's info, NANA is originally a shoujo manga series that reign the top selling spot of all shoujo mangas, beating every contender out there. Needless to say, the movie also got a huge fanbase, but that's not just because of the manga's success, but also the close proximity of the movie to the original manga. Heck, they have even chose the right actress to act as Nana: Nakashima Mika. She sings well, and looks really identical to her manga counterpart, even the atmosphere around her is the same, proving her to be a good actress.
To clarify, This song is NOT sung by Nana by the way, but rather by Reira (acted by Ito Yuna), who is the vocalist for the rock group in the movie. (forgot the name liao...)
BTW, Ito Yuna is a new face in the Jpop industry, and this song is her debut, yet the single that this song is featured on scored the #2 spot on the Oricon charts. and up to date sold near to half a million copies, a great feat for a newcomer. More obvious than not, this NANA movie shot her to instant fame.
When I heard this song in the movie, I was instantly moved by it. It's just so... sentimental. I have place the full version of the song here for anybody who thinks the MIDI version is not enough. You really have to hear her sing. You might also fell in love with this song. I know I do.

EDIT: shucks, the MIDI music still lags... Alright i guess for most of you, you will have to pause it for a while to let it buffer i.e. load for a while before playing it. I know it's a bit of inconvenience, but you won't regret hearing it. That's my guess anyway.
